The Philly Gay Men's Chorus Will Perform At North Penn HS

It's part of the Gay Men's chorus' youth outreach program, which aims to "foster understanding and personal growth" in teenagers.

LANSDALE, PA — The Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus will perform at North Penn High School this week as part of their youth outreach mission.

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Audion.

The group's youth mission aims to "foster understanding and personal growth" in teenagers.

"The group continues to support the LGBTQ+ community and empower young people by providing them with an opportunity to enter into a safe and affirming environment free from the threat of harm regardless of how they self-identify," the district said in a statement.

The Gay Men's Chorus has performed before more than 13,000 students at dozens of high schools and universities around the Philadelphia region.

The visit coincides with the "Long Road to Equality" traveling exhibit arriving at North Penn for three weeks in October. It highlights the history of activism in Pennsylvania to obtain legal protections for LGBTQ individuals. It was previously on display at Montgomery County Community College.

The concert is free and open to the public.
