Photo Gallery: Fall Mixer at the Lansdale Business Center
Over 40 businesses and hundreds of people attended the annual event.
More than 40 local businesses attended Thursday night's meet-and-greet mixer at the , aiming to increase their visibility and establish crucial community relationships with fellow business owners.
"I walked around town visiting over 100 businesses and handing out invitations," said Ellen Foulke, executive member of the Lansdale Business Association. "We want the businesses in the community to have an opportunity—in a fun setting—to communicate what they do."
The joint effort between the Lansdale Business Association and the drew a large group of local businesses, including , , and many other area banks and retailers.

What began as an exclusive picnic for the residents of the business park has grown exponentially over the last 30 years.
"We, as the business center, have had a picnic for our tenants, clients and friends for about 30 years now," said Foulke. "About 13 years ago, I figured I'd see if the LBA and PennSuburban Chamber Of Commerce would agree to have an event in concert, which I could host and invite some of our tenants, as well."

Participation in the laid-back event costs absolutely nothing, outside of what vendors are willing to offer for free.
"People are welcome to bring tables and displays, and there's no charge for that," said Foulke. "The vendors who are restaurants are serving their food, but there's no charge to anyone. The only expense incurred is whatever they decide to offer to the guests."
"I'm very pleased by the turnout," added Foulke. "The event is successful so long as a couple good connections are made, or someone learned of a new business in town."
The PennSuburban Chamber of Commerce is looking to say hello to new neighbors after a recent move to in Lansdale.
"Now that we've moved to the heart of Lansdale, I think it's important that we're more immersed into the community," said Kim Nguyen, of the chamber. "For us, we just want to integrate ourselves into the community, and work together with the other organizations."
