Specifically, some of the heaviest damage was reported at the Hidden Springs community in Souderton, located just off of County Line Road.
Video captured by CBS from Hidden Springs shows roofs ripped off, sheds partially destroyed, and debris scattered around the area.
Heavy rain and winds brought down wires and trees throughout the area, blocking some roads and knocking out power around the area. Before 10 a.m. Thursday, some 2,400 PECO customers remained without power.
No injuries have yet been reported. Local officials expressed their best wishes to the communities hit by the storm.
"After last night’s weather alerts, we hope our neighbors at Hidden Springs are safe and unharmed," State Rep. Steve Malagari shared.
The tornado investigation is the latest in the region, which is continuing to see outbreaks of bizarre and extreme weather.
Last month, an EF3 tornado hit Bucks County with winds of 140 miles per hour, causing widespread destruction in Bensalem and Trevose.
Significant flooding was reported elsewhere Wednesday into Thursday, with portions of the Schuylkill Expressway between Manayunk and King of Prussia becoming impassable at times. The Wissahickon Creek was continuing to rise at 9 a.m., approaching flood stage, the National Weather Service said.
