Route 309 Reopens After Accident Takes Down 3 Utility Poles

A major accident Wednesday took down three utility poles and several power lines on Route 309 in Montgomery Township.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — A major accident Wednesday took down three utility poles and several power lines on Route 309 in Montgomery Township, leading to an extended road closure.

The road was finally reopened at around 7:25 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred near the intersection with Hartman Road Wednesday afternoon as a truck was coming from a work site at a nearby quarry.

The road was closed for hours and traffic was in gridlock in both directions on Route 309 through the evening hours.

No injuries have been reported.
