SEPTA To Upgrade Rail Crossings In Lansdale, Leading To Road Closures

Traffic will be impacted in Lansdale for SEPTA work beginning next week.

LANSDALE, PA — Traffic will be impacted in Lansdale next week as SEPTA begins construction work on crossings in the borough, which will lead to road closures and detours.

The road work will begin at the Fifth Street railroad crossing on Monday, July 10, police announced.

Fifth Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the construction. Traffic will be detoured on Walnut Street to Seventh, then Maple, and then back to Fifth, according to authorities.

There will also be a no parking area on the west side of Walnut as it approaches Seventh.

Work is expected to be done by July 17, at which point work on Seventh Street will begin, continuing through Friday, July 21.

Seventh Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at the crossing, and vehicles will be detoured to Walnut, then to Fifth, then Maple, then back to Seventh, authorities said.

The no parking signage will remain in effect on the west side of Walnut.

Motorists should expect delays and plan for alternate routes.
