SEPTA Work To Shut Down Main Street In Lansdale For 4 Days

Work will begin later this week on the Lansdale/Doylestown SEPTA regional rail road crossing.

LANSDALE, PA — Main Street will be shut down in Lansdale next week and changes to SEPTA service are planned as crews begin construction work on the railroad crossing.

The road closure will be in place place from 9 a.m. on Friday, May 17 through 6 p.m. on Monday, May 20. Main Street is impacted between North Broad Street and West Orvilla Road.

Trains on SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown route will still operate on a normal schedule during the closure, but over the weekend, trains will use track number two at Lansdale station. All trains going between Doylestown and Center City will discharge passengers at that track on Saturday and Sunday.

Local access will be maintained for both residents and businesses. Drivers will be detoured to Broad Street, Cowpath Road, and Orvilla Road.

The rail crossing will be milled and paved, with new ties and rails installed during the work, officials said.
