'She Gives 110%': North Penn School Nurse Wins Regional Award

LANSDALE, PA — A fixture in the North Penn School District has received some well-deserved recognition.

Marisa Green, a long time school nurse at Montgomery Elementary School, has received the 2020 School Nurse Excellence Award for the southeastern Pennsylvania region, the school district announced.

The award is given by the Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses and Practitioners.

"Marisa is a caring and sympathetic individual who is concerned about the physical, mental and emotional needs of our staff and students," TJ Seidenberger, Principal at Montgomery Elementary School, said in a statement. "The Montgomery school community is extremely lucky to have Mrs. Green as a part of our team."

With this regional award in hand, Green is now eligible for the prestigious National Association of School Nurses 2021 Pennsylvania School Nurse of the Year Award, which considers all regions of Pennsylvania.

“She gives 110% in everything she does,” Karen Skillman, NPSD School Nurse Department Chair, said in a statement released by the school district. "Marisa is a valued and respected resource in the North Penn School District. I am thrilled her hard work and dedication to North Penn students, families and staff is being recognized with this award."

Green has worked at North Penn School District for 13 years, and at Montgomery for 11 years.
