Sinkhole Shuts Down Old Forty Foot Road

TOWAMENCIN, PA — Old Forty Foot was shut down Tuesday after a sinkhole opened up the road.

The closure is in effect between Old Morris Road and Kriebel Road. No traffic is permitted in the area.

Road signs and cones are blocking the road. Officials urge all motorists to obey the signs and not to drive around the cones.

Police said that PennDOT crews are "aware" of the situation, but it remains unclear how long the road will be closed.

An updated timeline will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
