300 Passengers Escape Smoking SEPTA Train: Report

About 300 passengers had an interesting commute this morning.

LANSDALE, PA - Smoke boiled out from beneath a North Wales SEPTA train on Thursday morning due to an electrical issue, according to a report.

The issue was related to the traction motor, The Reporter said.

The incident occurred the train to be stopped at 7:30 a.m. on its way to Philadelphia.

North Penn firefighters used chemical extinguishers to cool the smoking wires, the report states.

During the incident, about 300 passengers left the affected train and boarded a different train to continue their trip.
