Suspect Used Lyft To Move Body Of Lower Salford Woman: Report

LOWER SALFORD, PA — A new report reveals that Joshua Hupperterz, the man accused of killing 22-year-old Temple University student and Harleysville native Jenna Burleigh, used the ride share service Lyft to move her body from to Wayne County.

Hupperterz, 29, of Philadelphia, allegedly took a Lyft car from Jenkintown, Montgomery County to Hawley, Wayne County, which is about 135 miles away, Philly.com reports.

Hupperterz has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and possession of an instrument of crime in connection with Burleigh's death, according to court records.

Burleigh went missing at about 2 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 31 from a bar near Temple. Her body was then recovered in Hawley Saturday, Sept 2, at Hupperterz's grandmother's home, according to police.

Philly.com reports the Wayne County coroner ruled Burlgeigh's death a result of blunt force trauma and strangulation.

Hupperterz was denied bail, court documents show.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20, according to court records.
