The community is rallying behind Amber Sexton as she continues her courageous battle.

TOWAMENCIN, PA -- The community is rallying behind a Lansdale teenager born with a congenital heart defect and who is awaiting a heart transplant.
Amber Sexton, 17, a junior at North Penn High School, is now home for the hospital and is recuperating. Donations from hundreds of people have totaled nearly $10,000 in support for Amber and her family.
Friends say she was fought a tremendously brave battle, but the hardest part might not be fighting, but waiting.

Amber endured tests and surgeries over the years, and most of her life it was only a matter of time until her heart began to give out.
Twice she has undergone open heart surgery at CHOP, and recently suffered bleeding in her brain due to blood thinners, which affected her speech and motor skills.

“Amber is working hard every day with speech, occupational and physical therapy to regain what she has lost and build her strength for additional surgery when a heart becomes available. This amazing girl continually goes above and beyond what is asked of her,” says Lauren Shive, a friend of the family.
A GoFundMe page - Amber’s Army - has been established to support her and her family as they fight. See here to learn more or donate.
