Tree Planting for Earth Day 2018
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick was joined by the local community for the first inaugural Earth Day tree planting at BAPS Mandir in Hatfield.
Earth Day is the largest civic observance in the world and on April 22, 2018, volunteers in Hatfield, PA along with Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick joined the cause by planting trees.
The first Earth Day was held in 1970 and resulted in the beginning of the US Environmental Protection Agency and the passing of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. In support of the common goal to address our planet’s environmental challenges, BAPS Charities has committed to planting trees and raising funds for The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees initiative. The BAPS Charities Walk Green 2018 initiative will be held in over 50 cities across North America to support the planting of 100,000 trees.
As we move towards the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (2020), join BAPS Charities’ year-round efforts in tree planting, recycling, water conservation, and renewable energy solutions with the motto of Think Globally, Act Locally.
