VIDEO: North Penn Chamber Singers Win 101.1 More FM Grand Prize

LANSDALE, PA -- A group of students packed into a room at North Penn High School to listen to the radio early Friday morning. They were waiting to find out the results of the 101.1 More FM Christmas Choir Competition, a competition in which North Penn Chamber Singers had reached the final round.

The room was completely silent as the broadcast began. Students erupted into a brief groan when the buildup became too much - but then quickly quieted down, only to erupt into cheers when they heard the final verdict.

Only the words "North Penn" were audible on the radio before the celebration drowned out the rest.

North Penn defeated both Council Rock North and Council Rock South to take home the grand prize. The NPHS team's entry was “The Christmas Song."

North Penn now receives the grand prize of $5,000 cash and an opportunity to perform with The Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia on December 14.
