WATCH: Fire Tears Through Lansdale Area Restaurant
The origin of Friday's overnight fire remains unknown.
A fire tore through an Upper Gwynedd restaurant on Friday night, as multiple companies were on scene to help quell the blaze.
The fire started at the La Campagnola Restaurant on the 700 block of South Broad Street at about 10 p.m., according to the Towamencin Fire Company.
Towamencin was among the first crews on scene, as their Engine 76 began a forced entry and interior attack immediately.

Part of the roof collapsed during the blaze as conditions “quickly deteriorated,” fire officials said.
Firefighters were ultimately ordered to evacuate the building.

Crews remained on scene for about four hours.
Response to the blaze was a team effort, and was coordinated by at least ten different companies, including:
- Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department
- Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale
- Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company
- North Penn Volunteer Fire Company
- Skippack Fire Company
- North Penn Goodwill Service
- Worcester Fire Department
- Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company
- Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company of Souderton
- Montgomery Township Fire Marshal’s Office
The building was empty during the fire, and no firefighters were injured in the adverse conditions.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but officials believe it to be accidental.
