• Allegheny County judge approves Quaker Valley area fire department merger (newsbreak.com) — Leetsdale residents will soon be served by the new Quaker Valley Fire District, after an Allegheny County judge approved merging the Leetsdale, Leet, and Bell Acres volunteer departments. Leaders are coordinating 911 operations for an Oct. 1 transition to Station 324 and working with each municipality on new fire service agreements, bylaws, and long-term funding arrangements that could affect local taxpayers.
