A new 82-acre easement in Williams Township links with other preserved tracts, while related efforts have secured over a thousand acres of Lehighton Water Authority lands in Carbon County for future generations.
   

4. Center Valley Woman Dies from Crash-Related Injuries (sauconsource.com) — State police based in Lehighton are investigating a May 20 crash near Beltzville Lake in Towamensing Township that led to the May 31 death of a 90-year-old Center Valley woman. Officials say she rear-ended another vehicle, and both drivers were initially treated at St. Luke’s Hospital-Carbon Campus before the victim later died in Bethlehem.
   

5. 4 charged in 248 drive-by shooting (tnonline.com) — State police from the Lehighton barracks have charged four Lehigh Valley men with criminal homicide after a March 2 drive-by shooting along Route 248 in nearby Bowmanstown. Investigators say cellphone data, social media records, and a search of a Ford Flex tied the suspects to the attack, which allegedly stemmed from prior disputes in the Allentown area.
