$25,867 Raised In Pennsbury High School Mini-THON

FALLSINGTON, PA —Pennsbury High School has raised $25,867.70 in its annual Mini-THON event.

The funds were raised for children and families battling pediatric cancer.

Students stayed on their feet for six hours dancing, playing games, and also watched videos submitted by families directly affected by childhood cancer during the recent Mini-THON.

Students from Makefield Elementary School stopped by to contribute $3,356.38 that their school raised toward the total as well.

In other school district news:

• The Pennsbury Class of 2023 Retirees were honored at the May 18 school board meeting. Collectively, the retirees have dedicated almost 1,000 years to the students of Pennsbury. They were thanked for their dedication and service to students.
• Pennsbury's Walk & Bike to School Day took place last Wednesday. As part of Wellness Month, students who lived within walking distance of their school were encouraged to walk or ride a bike to school.
• Penn Valley Elementary School held an all-school assembly for Armed Forces Day, led by guidance counselor Arlene Johnson and fourth-grade teacher Martin O'Donnell. Active and retired military members were invited as special guests to be honored. Linda Palsky of the Pennsbury School Board kicked off the event by welcoming everyone and thanking Penn Valley's invited guests for their service.
• The award-winning Pennsbury underwater robotics club, "Sea Falcons" competed in their first international competition at the University of Maryland, following the regional competition where they won the community service award. For this international competition, they joined teams from around the world, including representatives from Dubai, Egypt, China, and New Zealand. They found success again, winning the Sportsmanship Award. The special award recognized a commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity, and general goodwill to others.
