3 Teens Nabbed After Bucks Co. Gun Store Burglary

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Three teenagers are in custody Tuesday after allegedly burglarizing a Langhorne gun shop and then leading authorities on a chase into New Jersey, police said.

Middletown Township Police Detective Lt. Steve Forman said the incident happened at the LugarMan gun store on the 1800 block of East Old Lincoln Highway early Tuesday morning.

Forman said police responded to an alarm at the business and saw a vehicle pulling out.

"There's not going to be anyone there at 3 a.m.," Forman said.

After failing to stop, the teenagers led police on a pursuit that also involved Falls Township police, who used a tire deflation device to disable the vehicle, Forman said.

"That was successful," he said. "We saw smoke coming out from the vehicle."

After the vehicle drove over the Calhoun Street Bridge, it crashed into a pole after losing its steering power. The suspects then fled on foot, Forman said.

Police set up a containment area and Forman said Trenton, N.J. Police spent an hour where they were able to catch three teenagers. Police were still seeking two others involved in the crime, Forman said.

He said more than 20 guns were taken.

"It's a huge win to make the arrest and to recover all of the guns," Forman said.

He said the gun shop is well known as a custom gun manufacturer, especially with the classic German lugars, and gun restoration and antique business.
