38th Annual Pennsbury Jazz Festival Is March 30

​Pennsbury will host its 38th Annual Jazz Festival on Thursday, March 30 starting at 5 pm.

Pennsbury will host its 38th Annual Jazz Festival on Thursday, March 30 starting at 5 pm. The event will be held at Pennsbury High School’s East Campus, 705 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills.

The festival will feature the renowned Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, as well as some of the top regional high school jazz bands in the area, including Montgomery Stage and Jazz Bands, LaSalle Jazz and Lab Bands, Cranberry School, and the high school bands from Neshaminy, Princeton, Willingboro, Camden and Cherry Hill East, according to an event announcement from the district.

Pennsbury’s three middle school jazz bands from Charles Boehm, William Penn and Pennwood will also perform.

"The Pennsbury Concert Jazz Band is considered one of the finest scholastic music ensembles in the
country and has been an integral part of the Pennsbury Instrumental Music Department since its
inception in 1959, consistently earning the highest rankings at the festivals in which it competes," the district said.

The band, under the direction of Frank Mazzeo, has performed on the “Tonight Show,” at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Mellon Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and was the first high school jazz band from the United States to perform in the People’s Republic of China.

Tickets for the jazz festival are $10 for adults $5 for students and seniors. Concessions, CDs and t-shirts will be available for purchase.
