7-11 Robbery Suspect Caught, Strangulation: Penndel Crimes
The Penndel Borough Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.
PENNDEL BOROUGH, PA —A suspect has been charged in a 7-11 robbery and a man is wanted for a strangulation offense in a domestic violence case.
Those were among the recent criminal incidents the Penndel Borough Police Department has released in its police blotter.

- On July 7, a woman called 911 to report an assault by her ex-boyfriend. Upon arriving and speaking with the victim, she reported that her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Jonathan Mitchell, had trapped her on her bed and used his hands to squeeze tightly to the point where she felt like she was going to pass out. Officers could see marks on both sides of her neck as they spoke to the victim. The victim was able to use a weapon to get Mitchell off her and he subsequently left the apartment. Due to the domestic nature of the assault, a warrant was put out for his arrest. Mitchell was arrested in Delaware County and placed into Bucks County Prison to await a hearing on strangulation charges.
- On July 26, police officers were dispatched to the 7-11 on Lincoln Highway for the report of an accident. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a parked car and was trying to leave the area. While speaking to the owners of the vehicle, an odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected by officers coming from Timothy McGinty. McGinty, 63, reported that he had consumed beers before driving. McGinty was unstable on his feet and was unable to complete field sobriety testing. He was transported to a local emergency room for treatment. During his stay in the emergency room, blood was obtained based on signs McGinty displayed at the accident scene. A summons will be sent to McGinty to appear in court pending the outcome of lab testing.
- On June 13, an officer on patrol on Lincoln Hwy observed a vehicle straddling the double yellow line and swerving back and forth between the eastbound and westbound lanes. The vehicle was stopped, and contact was made with the driver. The man had trouble following simple directions and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from his breath and person. He was asked to participate in field sobriety testing, which he was unable to complete. He was arrested for DUI and will be sent a summons to appear in court.
- On April 25, officers were notified of a report of a hold-up alarm at the 7-11 on Lincoln Highway. The store clerk reported that a black man with a beard, gloves, sunglasses, and gray sweatshirt came into the store. He showed the clerk a black handgun and forced the employee to give him around $1,200 in cash from the register and a pack of Newport cigarettes. On May 2, detectives from Lower Southampton reported that the same outfit was used in a robbery at a 7-11 in their township and they reported that they had developed a suspect of interest. In July, officers from Penndel and Lower Southampton interviewed a woman in Bucks County Prison who was a suspect in a robbery in Bensalem in July. The woman reported that she did have a man with her during robberies throughout the Lower Bucks area and identified the man as Christopher Yelverton. Yelverton was arrested on a separate charge by another police department and was interviewed in Bucks County Prison. On Aug. 14, Yelverton, 42, was charged with the robberies in Penndel and Lower Southampton.
- On April 17, an officer on patrol of Lincoln Highway observed a silver Honda Accord straddling the dashed white line that divides the eastbound lanes. The officer also witnessed the vehicle make a left turn onto Bellevue Avenue without using a turn signal and made the turn so wide that it crossed over the double yellow line on Bellevue Avenue and drove in the wrong direction. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with the driver. The 50-year-old man was unable to complete field sobriety testing. He was arrested for DUI and will be sent a summons to appear in court.
- On Feb. 8, officers were dispatched to the Reach Out Foundation for the report of a disorderly suspect. Officers found a white man with a black jacket outside of the building. The man was identified as 48-year-old Steven Millar. It was found that Millar had three active bench warrants for his arrest. During the search after his arrest, it was found that Millar had baggies of a white unknown substance and paraphernalia consistent with the use of narcotics. Millar was arrested on outstanding warrants and will be charged pending the outcome of lab testing of the white substance.
- On April 16, officers were notified by a Hulmeville Borough police officer that there was a wanted subject at the District Court in Penndel. Officers arrived and double-checked the warrant status. The subject was ID'd as Dangelo Farson and detained. Deputies of the Bucks County Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit were called, and they arrived a short time later. The Deputies took custody of Farson for transport to the Bucks County Prison.
