9/11 Walls Of Reflection Final Viewing This Weekend

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Walls of Reflection will remain open for viewing through Sunday in tribute of the 25th Commemoration of the Sept. 11 attacks on America.

The walls can be viewed at The Garden of Reflection, Pennsylvania's official memorial to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, on Woodside Road.

In the years following the attacks, the Walls of Reflection became a place where visitors to The Garden could share their grief, gratitude, and hope with words and drawings.

Located next to the memorial grounds in The Oak Garden Arboretum Plaza, the tall white panels invite family members, first responders, neighbors, and visitors of every age to pick up a marker and leave a personal message to a loved one lost and a community still healing.

Over the years, the Walls have filled with thousands of handwritten notes, prayers, and tributes, a visible, moving record of a community's collective memory.

“Having a place to write a message is part of the healing for families like mine, and for a community that lost so much. These Walls hold what words alone cannot: a shared need to mourn, and to honor. Nine souls from Lower Makefield. Eighteen from Bucks County. All 2,977 are not with us today. We speak their names so they live on,” said Ellen Saracini, board chair and founder of the 9-11 Memorial Garden of Reflection, Inc., whose husband, Captain Victor Saracini, was the pilot of United Airlines Flight 175.

The Garden of Reflection was created as a place of remembrance, reflection, and healing for the community since its dedication on the fifth anniversary of the attacks in 2006.

The Garden honors all 2,977 victims of the September 11 attacks, with special recognition of the 18 victims from Bucks County.
