After Resignation, Falls Manager Agrees To Stay
Supervisors, and a $5,000 a year raise, helped convince Peter Gray stay in the role he's held for 12 years.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — After submitting his resignation to Falls Township's board of supervisors earlier this month, Township Manager Peter Gray has now agreed to stay.
Township officials say discussion after Tuesday night's supervisors meeting solidified Gray's decision to continue in his current role, which he has held for the past 12 years.
"I’m thrilled that the township and Mr. Gray were able to come to an agreement on a contract which keeps him in the role of township manager," supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie said. "Mr. Gray’s professionalism, experience and honesty are well known to everyone and his role in our township over the past 20 years has been integral to our success."

Before taking the job as township manager, Gray served for eight years as Falls Township's finance director.
He had said he was interested in seeking other opportunities and his last day on the job was to have been Oct. 1. But officials say that, ultimately, the five-member Board of Supervisors was able to convince him to stay.

Gray's current contract, which was to have expired Dec. 31, will be extended for two years and Gray will receive a $5,000 annual salary increase, retroactive from Jan. 1.
Along with Harvie, supervisors Vice-Chairman Jeffrey Dence had worked to convince Gray to stay.
"The Supervisors knew that replacing Mr. Gray would not be an easy task and certainly not one we wished to undertake," Dence said. "It’s not every day that a community is lucky enough to have a township manager with such a deep knowledge of our town, our residents and our unique challenges."
