(phillyburbs.com) — Bristol Township council has voted to remove Newportville Fire Co. from its service district, shifting coverage for residents, including those at Levittown Trace Apartments, after concerns over missed calls and staffing. Officials cited a late response to a serious Levittown Trace fire, failed merger talks, and an embezzlement case, while assuring residents that four remaining companies, including Levittown Fire Co. No. 2, can still provide adequate protection.

2. Air Force member accused of sending explicit messages to Bucks County girl (6abc.com) — Police say a 27-year-old Air Force member is charged after allegedly exchanging sexually explicit messages with a 15-year-old Levittown girl he met on Snapchat. The teen reportedly left home to meet him at Dover Air Force Base before being safely located there by investigators, who then filed unlawful contact with a minor and related charges.

3. Battery Might Be To Blame For Commercial Building Blaze (levittownnow.com) — Levittown firefighters helped battle an early-morning commercial building fire on Newbold Road in neighboring Falls Township, where a lithium-ion battery is being investigated as a possible cause. Crews from Levittown, Fairless Hills, Morrisville, Yardley-Makefield, and Tullytown joined Falls Township firefighters to quickly contain the office-area blaze, ventilate smoke, and confirm there was no spread, and no injuries were reported.

4. Manor College hires Andrew Hart as baseball head coach (centredaily.com) — A familiar face to Levittown baseball families is stepping up to the college level, as longtime WILD Baseball Club instructor and Little League coach Andrew Hart is named head baseball coach at Manor College. Hart, who has spent six years leading a successful Levittown-based travel program, says he plans to bring his fundamentals-focused, relationship-driven approach to rebuilding the Manor baseball program.
