Smith said someone left a phone message from a blocked number stating they were going to “bring a bomb to school tomorrow.”

He said that same person left a follow-up message 10 minutes later saying they were “only kidding.”

Police were notified and are investigating the threat, Smith said.

"This is not believed to be a credible threat," Smith said, adding that an extra police presence is on the high school campus on Wednesday.

"As you are aware, we take every threat seriously and investigate each situation thoroughly in partnership with law enforcement. The safety and security of our students and staff are of utmost importance to us," Smith said. "To this end, we are committed to communicating with you about school safety precautions."
