LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania franchisee for Dave's Hot Chicken restaurants has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Langhorne-based franchisee TIG Reaper LLC, which operates the state's hot chicken locations, including several in the Philadelphia region, filed for bankruptcy.
TIG Reaper filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Monday, listing $10 million to $50 million in assets and liabilities, according to the bankruptcy filings.
TIG Reaper operates Dave's Hot Chicken locations on Park Avenue in Willow Grove and 9113 Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia, according to the bankruptcy filings.
A Dave's Hot Chicken corporate spokesperson said that TIG's legal situation does not involve Dave's Hot Chicken corporate or its broader franchise system, The Street reported on Yahoo Business News.
Dave's Hot Chicken has 12 locations in Pennsylvania, including two in Bucks County in Langhorne and Quakertown.
The popular hot chicken chain operates 300 locations nationwide.
