A woman reported in the threat a “detailed description” of a man who was reported to have been heading to the court with a gun. He was reported to be targeting the judge, according to police.

Bristol Police told Levittown Now that both threats are connected.

The bomb threat took place Tuesday and the court was evacuated for several hours.

Stephen D. Watson, Bucks County's district court administrator in Doylestown, said in a statement to Patch Friday that the Court was made aware Thursday afternoon of a potential threat against District Court 07-1-03 in Bristol.

Watson said that local and county law enforcement were immediately informed and are investigating the matter.

He said as a safety precaution, the Bristol court office was closed Thursday afternoon and Friday.

"The Court thanks law enforcement and court staff for their prompt action, and the public for their understanding of the necessary closure," Watson said.

A spokeswoman for the Philadelphia office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation deferred comment to the Bristol Township Police Department.
