Bomb Threat Evacuates Neshaminy High School For 2nd Straight Day

Thursday's threat caused an evacuation for an hour as Middletown Township police searched the building, school officials said.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —For the second straight day, Neshaminy High School was evacuated for a bomb threat.

The bomb threat Thursday happened around noon and had the school evacuated for an hour, said Chris Stanley, the district's community relations coordinator.

"Back-to-back days, that's unusual," said Stanley, who has been with the district for nearly nine years.

In Thursday's incident, Middletown Township police officers and K9 units were checking a section of the high school where the threat was made. Stanley did not have details regarding the specifics of the threat.

Students were not dismissed early like what happened with Wednesday's threat in which the school was evacuated for several hours. the high school has 2,777 students.

Two students were taken into custody following Wednesday's threat.

"They brought in police and dogs and the search didn't take quite as long," Stanley said.

Stanley said he did not know how the threat came to the attention of school officials or whether anyone was taken into custody.

"We're hoping that kids see that there are consequences to their actions," he said.
