Brake Failure Possible Cause Of Falls Twp. Crash: Police

A motorist was injured Friday on Lincoln Highway after being struck by a vehicle in which the driver said she lost her brakes, police said.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —The cause of a crash Friday morning that injured a motorist may have been caused by brake failure, police said.

The Falls Township Police Department said a 27-year-old Warminster woman was driving northbound at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Bristol-Oxford Valley Road when she reported that her brakes possibly failed.

She told police that her car is older and it could not stop at the red light.

The woman also had her 2-year-old daughter seated in a rear-facing car seat in the back seat.

The possible brake failure caused her vehicle to strike the passenger side of a white SUV operated by a 33-year-old Levittown woman.

The Levittown woman said she was driving on North Oxford Valley Road with a green light, crossing over Lincoln Highway, when she was struck by the sedan on her passenger side

Police said the white SUV then flipped and landed on its driver's side.

The driver was able to speak to emergency personnel, who arrived on the scene. She was later extricated by fire department personnel.

All parties were transported by Penndel Middletown Rescue Squad to St. Mary’s Medical Center for evaluation to be treated for minor injuries.
