Bristol House Fire Started In Clothes Dryer

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — A house fire Thursday night in Bristol Township started inside a clothes dryer, officials say.

Fire crews were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to the fire, in the 70 block of Red Cedar Drive in Bristol. According to Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito, the quick response, combined with the homeowner closing a laundry room door, helped keep the fire contained.

The blaze started in the second-floor laundry room inside the dryer, Dippolito said. There were no injuries.

Units from Bristol Towship, Levittown Fire Co. No. 2 and Edgely Fire Co. arrived on the scene four minutes after they were dispatched, he said.
