Bristol Man Stole $120K From Employer: Police

Breaking: Shawn Murphy has been charged after police say an investigation revealed he stole $120K from his employer through a PayPal scam.

Police have charged a Bristol man who they say stole $120,000 from his Newtown employer through a PayPal scam. Authorities are looking for the public's help to locate Shawn Murphy, 34.

He has been charged by with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and related charges after Newtown Township police said an investigation allegedly revealed he created PayPal accounts to unlawfully charge money transfers on his employer's company credit card accounts.

Police allege Murphy would deposit the money into a family member's bank accounts for cash withdrawals, as well as numerous unauthorized purchases associated with the same employer's company credit cards.

The total loss for his employer was in excess of $120,000, police said. Police have not released the name of the affected company.
