Aspiring Auto & Diesel Technicians Receive $10,000 in Snap-On Tools for Their School's Automotive Program through UTI Top Tech Challenge

On Wednesday, February 18, Universal Technical Institute delivered a Snap-On toolbox, estimated at $10,000, to two students at Bucks County Technical High School. Steven Surrick and Tim McDonald were the proud prize recipients, in honor of their first place win after competing in the Top Tech Challenge at Universal Technical Institute’s Exton campus on January 24.
The two students battled it out with more than 70 high school students from thirty high schools from across the region during the 2015 Top Tech Challenge at Universal Technical Institute. Demonstrating both skill and expertise, they took home first place after securing the top scores overall on a written test and several hands-on challenges including parts and tool identification, as well as brakes, diagnostics and electrical systems.
UTI-Exton Admissions Representative, Hector Guzman, was on site to present the first-place prize to the students and congratulate and recognize them for their hard work and career-minded professionalism. In addition to the Snap-On toolbox for their school, McDonald and Surrick also each received Snap-On® tool vouchers valued at $2,000, plus $1,000 each in prize money.
