Bucks Human Relations Council Hosts Forum On Hate-Crime, Police Relations

The event will brainstorm strategies to improve civil rights in Bucks County.

A public forum on discrimination, hate-crimes, police-community relations, and civil rights will be held in Yardley next month.

The event will include a presentation and question and answer session with civil rights experts, including Carl Summerson, Esq., Permanent Hearing Officer of the PA Human Relations Commission and Tameka Hatcher, MBA, Housing Program Analyst of PA Human Relations Commission.

Specific topics to be discussed will include unlawful discrimination, fair housing strategies, and hate crime activity.

“The Bucks County Human Relations Council is dedicated to promoting the value of diversity and addressing discrimination based on age, race, color, gender, religion, creed, culture, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, ancestry, national origin and disability,” a press release for the event states.

The event will be held Tuesday, May 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Yardley-Lower Makefield Public Library.
