Car Ran Red Light In Christmas Day Crash That Injured 3

Penndel Police determined a car ran a red light, causing the Christmas Day crash that injured three people on Lincoln Highway.

PENNDEL, PA — Police in Penndel will be filing citations in connection with a Christmas Day crash that injured three people on Lincoln Highway. The crash was caused by one driver running a red light at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and S Bellevue Avenue, police determined.

When officers arrived to the scene, they located one vehicle on its side and one on its roof. A total of three vehicles were involved. Two people were trapped, and the Penndel Fire Company and Penndel-Middletown EMS responded to assist with helping rescue the victims.

As a result of the crash, three people were transported to St. Mary's Medical Center for evaluation. Their current conditions were not released.

"After speaking with all parties involved and reviewing security camera footage, police determined that a red GMC SUV ran a red light, causing the accident," police said.

Citations will be filed. The drivers involved were not identified.
