Dealer Charged In Falls Overdose Death, 1 Other: Police

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bensalem man has been charged in the overdose deaths of two men, including one from Falls, who had used a combination of heroin and fentanyl that he sold to them, according to prosecutors.

Ryan Thomas Bittner Walsh, 24, was charged Monday with two counts each of drug delivery resulting in death and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, the Bucks County District Attorney's office announced.

He is charged in the overdose deaths of Ricardo Fernandez, 24, of Falls, and Morgan Bazik, 20, of Bensalem. Fernandez was found dead on Feb. 24, 2017, and Bazik died two months later, on April 25.

According to prosecutors, the two men were found dead in their homes with packages containing heroin and fentanyl nearby. Unlabeled baggies were found with Fernandez, while the drugs found with Bazik came in baggies labeled "Scarface."

Although the packaging was different, investigators from the Falls Township and Bensalem Township police departments learned that the drugs came from the same source, prosecutors said.

According to the charges, their investigation revealed that Walsh had sold the drugs to both men.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine, but can be up to 100 times more potent and, according to law enforcement, can be deadly in small doses. They say drug dealers often mix it with other drugs because it is so powerful in small doses.
