It was important to Jenny to pass on to her children that anything is possible if they just set their minds to it.

“Habitat for Humanity’s staff, their donors, volunteers, and partners are making our dreams come true. We are very grateful and can hardly wait to move and pay it forward,” Jenny said.

Jenny’s home will be the first of Habitat Bucks’ new homeownership model, called a land trust.

Through the land trust, Habitat Bucks retains ownership of the land, while our buyers enter into a long-term partnership with us as they purchase their houses with affordable mortgages; just as before, they own their homes – continuing the tradition of putting down roots, growing, dreaming and thriving.

When our homeowners choose to move on – they agree to resell their home to another qualified homebuyer at an affordable price. Our homeowners get to “pay it forward” to the next generation of Habitat homebuyers, Habitat said in a press release.

“At Habitat Bucks, we believe that affordable housing plays a critical role in strong, stable communities. Experts also draw a straight line between housing quality and the well-being of children,” Stacey Mullholland, vice president of Habitat's Board of Directors said.

Habitat homes offer families a path toward stability and independence.

Lead sponsors of this home, who also recognize and support Habitat’s mission, include Parx Casino, Wells Fargo, and the County of Bucks.

Additionally, more than 171 volunteers gave more than 1,103 hours of service to complete the home.

Habitat Bucks is grateful to businesses, organizations, faith groups, and individuals who believe that everyone deserves a decent and affordable place to live.
