Falls Supervisors Seek Recycling Grants

In previous years, the company has helped Falls obtain state grants averaging $80,000 per year.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Supervisors in Falls Township have moved to seek tens of thousands of dollars in grants for recycling programs.

The board approved a $4,8000 proposal from F.X. Browne, Inc., to complete the township's 2018 recycling grant application. In previous years, the company has helped Falls obtain state grants averaging $80,000 per year.

Grant amounts are based on total tonnage of recycling for residential and commercial properties in 2018.

"It brings in revenue ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 every year," Falls Finance Director Betsy Reukauf said. "It’s well worth the cost of the proposal."

The company has submitted the township’s grant applications for nearly 20 years, Township Manager Peter Gray said.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to recycle as much material as possible. Every little bit helps increase the amount of potential grant funds, supervisors say.

Falls has 22-gallon and 32-gallon recycling containers available for purchase at the municipal building.
