Falls Township K9 Getting Protective Vest

A Falls Township K9 dog is receiving a protective vest thanks to a nonprofit organization.

The dog, Leo, will receive the bullet and stab protective vest within eight to 10 weeks from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9, according to the local police department. Leo's vest will be embroidered with the sentiment "In memory of K9 Ty, California City Police Department, the Falls Township Police Department said.

According to its website, Vested Interest in K9s provides bullet and stab protective vests to law enforcement dogs across the country. Since its inception in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s has provided over 2,400 protective vests through private and corporate donations totaling more than $1.9 million dollars.
