Family Of 5 Loses Everything In Lower Bucks House Explosion

A GoFundMe page has been launched for a family whose Middletown Township home exploded over the weekend.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —A family of five lost everything after their house exploded over the weekend in Middletown Township.

"There are no words to describe the magnitude of what I saw last night when arriving at their house with the core circle of other family and friends there to make sure they were okay," said Ariana Musil, who organized a GoFundMe page fundraiser.

The family of five was not home at the time and their three dogs were also rescued and safe, Musil said.

More than $50,000 has been raised of the $100,000 goal on the GoFundMe page.

The Middletown Township Police Department is investigating what caused the fire at the home in the Snowball Gate development section of Levittown.

Musil said she has known the Campbell family for 22 years. She said the GoFundMe page is the only fundraiser that is affiliated and approved by the Campbell family. Questions or concerns should be forwarded to Cheryl Campbell, she said.

Musil said the family's children are a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old girl.

"From family vacations, summers spent on the water, sports with the kids, to Halloweens, they are like family to us and last night our extended family lost everything to a devastating house fire," Musil said.

She said that now the realization has set in for the family.

The family received a phone call when they were at dinner that their home was on fire.

"Picking up the pieces to navigate moving forward from this" is difficult," Musil said. "The thought of leaving your home with your family to enjoy a nice dinner in the hectic world of kids' sports and back-to-school schedules, to getting a phone call mid-dinner that your home is on fire and racing back to absolutely nothing is unimaginable."

She said the family just has the clothes on their backs.

"While small donations were provided to get them through a few days, we’re hoping the community of friends, family, and neighbors can help in any way possible. No donation is too small. If you know me personally and would like to donate physical items like clothes or school supplies, please reach out," Musil said. "Anything, absolutely anything, and everything is appreciated during this time of need."
