Fire That Destroyed Falls Township Home Under Investigation

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A fire that ripped through and destroyed a Rice Drive home Thursday afternoon is under investigation, fire officials said.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said fire crews were dispatched at 4:47 p.m. Thursday for a reported dwelling fire with possible entrapment.

He said that crews found the home engulfed in flames along with two vehicles in the driveway, but that the occupants and pets had safely escaped.

The Falls Township Fire Company was assisted by crews from Morrisville, Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 1, William Penn, and Yardley-Makefield.

Crews extinguished the fire which destroyed the home and two vehicles in the driveway, the fire marshal said.

There was also damage to an adjoining home due to the severe heat.

Dippolito said no occupants or firefighters were injured.

Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue squad was also on the scene to provide medical assistance.
