Former Bristol Township Commissioner Passes Away At 90
Charles L. Worthington was the oldest living member of the Edgely Fire Co.

Charles L. Worthington Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 90. Born in Edgely, Pa, son of the late Stanley and Mary Worthington, he was a lifelong Edgely resident.
He was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1945 and was a proud veteran of the Army/Airforce, serving in Germany during WWII. Charlie was employed as a plumber, was the proprietor of the Hillside Inn in Edgely and also served as the Prothonotary of Bucks County for many years. He also served as a Bristol Township Commissioner, and was a Republican Committeeman.
Charlie was a life member and oldest living member of the Edgely Fire Co., was a member of the Billington VFW, Bristol Elks Lodge 970, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1169 and was the past Commodore of the Bristol Yacht Club. Charlie loved to hunt and boat of which one of his fondest memories was the boat trip to Florida with four of his best boating buddies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ethel M. Worthington, his children, Jeanette Santone and her husband, Joe, Cindy Kennedy, Chuck Worthington and his wife, Beth and Todd Worthington and his wife, Jessica, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers, Edward Worthington and Kenneth Worthington and his wife, Shirley along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Worthington, sister, Doris Nickerson, brother-in-law, Thomas Nickerson and sisters-in-law, Frances Worthington and Josie Worthington.
A Celebration of Life for his family will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wade Funeral Home, Bristol Borough.
