Historic Bristol Day Taking Place Rain Or Shine Saturday

The 47th annual event features lots of family activities and a car show Saturday. There's also a "Bristol Barbie" contest.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA —You can't stop history.

And for this, the 47th year, Historic Bristol Day is expected to shine Saturday, rain or shine.

Historic Bristol Day organizers said that in light of Saturday's forecast, contingency plans and modifications for the day will be posted on social media and the Historic Bristol Day website on Saturday.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Bristol Borough.

But this year history comes with a new twist, a contest capitalizing on the popularity of a recent movie that sparked a sensation across the nation: A "Bristol Barbie" contest.

"The 'Bristol Barbie' contest is not your ordinary beauty pageant," organizers said "It's a celebration of diversity, individuality, and the vibrant personalities that make Bristol such a special place. Whether you're an artist, an athlete, a musician, or just someone with a passion for your community, this contest is for you. It's an opportunity to shine a light on what makes you, you!"

Visit Bristol Borough said there are plenty of highlights for the event Saturday.

They include an antique boat display, archaeological dig, car show, children's activities, crafters, entertainment, a food court, house tours, museum tours, mural arts tours, walking tours, and garden tea, among other activities.

The 12th annual car show features a wide variety of cars, including antiques, classics, muscle cars, and sports cars.
