League officials say the vandals did $8,000-$10,000 worth of damage. A fundraiser has been set up to help them recover.

LEVITTOWN, PA — A Little League organization in Levittown is working to recover after vandals busted up its clubhouse on Friday, doing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Officials with Levittown United Little League say the vandals, who got into the group's building on Friday afternoon, did between $8,000-$10,000 in damage.

"Our hearts are absolutely broken," the league said in a post on Facebook.

And, on Saturday, the league posted that the vandals were caught by Bristol Township Police. But that still leaves the volunteer organization scrambling to make repairs so it can keep hosting baseball and softball games.

A GoFundMe page set up to help the cause says that two boys were arrested and that they used a baseball bat and a hatchet to damage the clubhouse. Freezers, refrigerators and a scoreboard controller were damaged, the page says.

As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe campaign had raised $2,925 of a $10,000 goal.

"We want to reach out to the community and say thank you for your concern ...," the league wrote on Facebook. "Please consider donating to our GoFundMe account to help us recover from this devastating loss."
