Levittown Man Sentenced For Assault On Mother, Police Officers
David Zorger Jr., 51, has been sentenced to serve three and a half to nine years in state prison.

A Levittown man who was on parole when he tried to stab his mother in January has been sentenced to serve three and a half to nine years in state prison, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's office.
David Zorger Jr., 51, received an 18-month to four-year sentence for the parole violation, followed by a consecutive two- to five-year sentence for the assault on his mother, as well as trying to injure three police officers.
According to authorities, police went to Zorger's Copper Beach Lane home after a neighbor reported a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, Zorger’s 72-year-old mother told them he had pushed a table into her, injuring her, then chased her out of the house with a large kitchen knife, the District Attorney's office said.

"After police arrived, Zorger broke a glass pane in the front door and screwed the door shut with a cordless drill. He then threw the drill through the window at the officers, who were struck with broken glass as the drill flew past their heads," according to information from the District Attorney's office.
In June, he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of aggravated assault. He sentencing was delayed so a psychological evaluation could be conducted.
