Levittown Youth Group Leader Jailed For Molesting Teens

A youth group leader at a Levittown church who molested two teenage girls has been sentenced to serve one day less than one year to one day less than two years in the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Michael Walusimbi, 23, of Bensalem pleaded guilty to two counts of corrupting minors as part of a negotiated plea agreement, authorities with the Bucks County District Attorney's office said.

Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge Raymond F. McHugh also imposed a concurrent five years of probation and ordered Walusimbi to not work with minors.

The victims, who were 13 and 15 at the time, told police that Walusimbi had touched them sexually on separate occasions in 2016 inside Oxford Valley Chapel on Bristol Oxford Valley Road. The 13-year-old told police in September 2016 that Walusimbi had held her arms behind her back, bent her face-first over a table, pulled down her pants and rubbed his erect penis against her buttocks, the District Attorney's office said in a statement.

The 15-year-old girl told police that Walusimbi had assaulted her over the summer. She said that Walusimbi had held her arms behind her back and pushed her face-first onto a table. The girl was able to kick her leg backward and break free from Walusimbi. In a statement submitted to the judge, the younger victim wrote that the incident “really messed up my life. I got harassed and hurt because of what he did," according to the District Attorney's office.

Walusimbi declined to speak in court.

The case was investigated by Middletown Township Police detectives and prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Antonetta Stancu
