Lower Bucks Co. Man Killed In NJ Turnpike Crash
A 30-year-old Levittown man died after being struck while standing outside his car early Monday morning, state police said.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —A 30-year-old Lower Bucks County man has been killed in a two-car crash after their vehicle was disabled on the New Jersey Turnpike, state police said.
Alton Smith, 30, of Levittown, died following a crash at 2:17 a.m. Monday on the southbound New Jersey Turnpike at milepost 64.1 on the inner roadway in Robbinsville Township, Mercer County., state police said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, in the area of milepost 64.1, a BMW 428i and a BMW X3 were involved in a collision, becoming disabled within the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike inner roadway, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

A BMW 328i was traveling southbound and collided with the unoccupied and disabled BMW 428i. After the collision, the driver of the BMW 328i parked on the right shoulder and exited the vehicle. A Hyundai passenger vehicle was traveling southbound and collided with the disabled BMW 428i, subsequently striking a pedestrian and the rear of the parked BMW 328i.
As a result of the crash, the pedestrian associated with the BMW 328i, Smith, sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
State Police said the crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
