Man Charged In Falls Hit-And-Run Injury (ICYMI)

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A man accused of striking a victim with his vehicle in Falls Township, then driving away, has been charged with aggravated assault, DUI and other crimes in the case.

Falls Township Police say John Rodriguez, 48, was driving at U.S. Rt. 1 and Stony Hill Road on Tuesday when he hit the victim in the case, causing minor injuries. Rodriguez then drove away, ending up at a shopping center in Lower Makefield Township, according to police.

Officers spoke with a witness, who police say saw Rodriguez get out of his vehicle and provided them a description. A Falls Township K-9 unit tracked down Rodriguez, who police say admitted he had been in the accident and left the scene.

Rodriguez submitted to a chemical blood test, which showed he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, police said. They say he also was driving with a suspended license.

Rodriguez is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault-DUI, causing an injury while driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.
