MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA -- A Levittown man who was shot and seriously wounded in a botched pizza shop holdup that left his brother dead has been sentenced to serve 57 months to 10 years in state prison.

Justin A. Rose, 23, was involved in the attempted robbery of Porfirio’s Pizza and Pasta II in Middletown on Nov. 15, 2016. His older brother, Shawn, was killed after being shot by a gun-carrying customer he had just pistol whipped, according to the Bucks County District Attorney.

Justin Rose had pleaded guilty to robbery, conspiracy, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The brothers’ mother and Justin Rose’s pregnant girlfriend also were implicated in the crime.

Authorities say the women, identified as Robin Lynn Soto, 53, and Chasidy Demi Ramos, 26, stepped inside the store just as it was about to close. Soto allegedly asked a worker about when the shop would close before the women left to tell the brothers how many people were in the shop.

Soon after, Shawn and Justin Rose burst in with their guns drawn.

Soto, of Levittown, is serving an 18- to 36-month state prison sentence for robbery and conspiracy. Ramos, of Bristol Borough, was sentenced to one day less than a year to one day less than two years in the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub determined that the customer was justified in shooting the robbers, and brought no charges against him.
