Man Rescued From Top Of Train In Falls Twp.
Falls Township Police said a NJ man jumped on top of a moving train while trying to take his own life.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A man was rescued from the top of a N.J. Transit train Monday morning after trying to take his own life, police said.
The Falls Township Police Department responded at 10:30 a.m. Monday to assist NJ Transit Police in the area of 15 M-Y Lane, Morrisville, for a man atop a train.
Police said its preliminary investigation determined that a 32-year-old Willingboro, N.J., man jumped from an elevated rail track at the Light Rail Yard in Trenton onto a moving NJ Transit Train traveling to Pennsylvania, in an apparent attempt to take his life.

Once the train traveled into Pennsylvania, a train conductor on an opposing track spotted the man and alerted NJ Transit, which then stopped the train.
Sgt. Ray Fanelli coordinated resources including Capitol Health EMS, the Falls Township Fire Department, the Morrisville Fire Company, and the Penndel Fire Company to assist as he worked with NJ Transit officials for a safe rescue.

Falls Township police officers Brian Fisher and Francisco Olmeda kept the man —who was suffering from a compound fracture of his leg and a contusion to his head —engaged in dialogue and provided him with blankets, hand warmers, and a tourniquet during the more than hour and a half it took to safely rescue him.
The man was transported to Captial Health, New Jersey, for evaluation and treatment.
Police said the train service interruption lasted about three hours.
