Masked Men Tie Up Victims In Middletown Home Invasion (ICYMI)

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A pair of robbers wearing ski masks broke into a home in Middletown Monday night and tied up the residents before running away, according to police.

According to Middletown Township Police, the incident happened in the Cobalt Ridge neighborhood. The victims told officers that the two men wearing ski masks and dark clothing broke into their home and tied them up.

One of the invaders may have had a handgun, they told police.

The victims managed to escape, according to information from police, and the intruders ran away in an unknown direction. Police said they don't have a detailed description of the home invaders, who remained at large as of Tuesday morning.

The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries in the break-in, according to police. Investigators were still working Tuesday morning to determine a motive and learn what, if anything, was stolen in the home invasion.

"This appears to have been targeted specifically to this home, and we don't believe this a random act," police said in a post on Facebook late Monday. "We have been at the scene for hours gathering evidence and conducting interviews. We will have extra patrols in the area throughout the overnight hours."

Anyone who sees anything suspicious, or anyone in the neighborhood with an outdoor security camera that may have captured what happened, is asked to call 911 immediately.
