Men Admit Robbing Levittown Store, Duct Taping Victims

Two men have admitted duct taping people and putting them in a store bathroom during an armed robbery last year in Levittown.

Two New Jersey men have admitted duct taping people and putting them in a store bathroom during an October 2016 armed robbery at Metro PCS in Levittown, authorities announced.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick, Rodney Day, 26, and Zeldrick Nance, 30, both of Trenton, pleaded guilty this week.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court, On Oct. 12, 2016, Day, Nance, and a third suspect, Lisa Anderson, went to the Levittown Metro PCS Store. Day brandished what appeared to be a firearm while Nance duct taped the people who were inside the store and put them in the bathroom.

Anderson then stole cell phones and money from the cash registers, according to information from the U.S. Attorney's office. Anderson previously pleaded guilty to her role in the robberies and is scheduled for sentencing next month.

The Oct. 12 robbery in Levittown followed two similar incidents.

The trio robbed a Willingboro, N.J. Metro PCS store on Sept. 29, 2016 and a Lumberton, N.J. Metro PCS store on Oct. 7, 2016. In both of those cases, the store occupants were duct taped and placed in either a bathroom or a storage room as phones and cash were stolen.

The charge of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robberies carries a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing for Day and Nance is set for Feb. 14, 2018 and Feb. 7, 2018, respectively.
